The LVFTZA welcomes prospective investors especially in the following areas:
A: To customers transferring part of their administrative (Office Sharing) and production (Production Sharing) activities to the zone, the benefits include total exemption from the listed taxes, a significant reduction in operational costs, competitive capacity improvement, and direct access to the Ugandan an East African markets. The merchandise or products of a manufacturing industry resident in the Free Trade Zone is offered at internationally competitive market prices thereby earning a steady boost in profits and a name on the world market panorama, due to manufacturing incentives based on the Free-Tax policy.
Sseesamirembe Eco-City: Lake Victoria Free Trade Zone is especially oriented toward the support of small and medium size companies participating in the global market especially in the mmanufacturing or production sector and in business activities such as wholesale, retail and distribution, medium, assembling, or processing of goods especially in areas of electronics, telecommunications, biomedical, biotechnology, agricultural, pharmaceutical and other areas of basic interest. Intense information-technology production, processing and management companies and firms will enjoy great advantage since tax-free import incentives are open to such investors operating in the Free Trade Zone.
In particular are welcome those companies, subsidiaries, branches and departments responsible for information processing and management in the areas of banking, financing, brokerage, stock exchanges, commerce, overseas management, trust, call centers, soft ware production, multimedia productions, data banks, data entry and processing operations, telemarketing, maritime traffic management, informatics networks management, and scientific and technological research. All companies producing, processing, and managing information through telecommunications and informatics means are most welcome.
B: As an investor and strategic partner in the development of one or more of the zone's sub projects or concessions such as real-estate building investments in: warehouses, shopping malls and stores for the retail district, the hotels industry, hi-tech hospitals, telecommunications systems, solar and alternative power generation plants and distribution systems, convention centers, water purification plants, sewage treatment plants, garbage processing plants, security systems, etc. Importation of tools, equipment and machinery into the Free Trade Zone are tax-free.
C: As a provider of equipment, materials, tools, accessories, required for the construction and operation of infrastructures buildings and diverse planned facilities. We consider ideal the combination of this option with one or both of the previous options. Importation of these items into the Free Trade Zone is tax-exempt.
